Responsibilities

• Prepare treatment rooms by sterilizing instruments, setting up dental tools, and ensuring all equipment is functioning properly in accordance with aseptic techniques.
• Assist dentists chairside during a variety of procedures including general dentistry, prosthodontics, endodontics, and pediatric dentistry, providing necessary instruments and materials promptly.
• Take and develop dental X-rays using advanced imaging technology such as 3D scanners while maintaining strict adherence to HIPAA regulations for patient privacy.
• Manage patient records by updating medical documentation, medical coding, and ensuring accurate data entry within EMR systems like Eaglesoft.
• Provide excellent patient care by explaining procedures, taking vital signs, and addressing questions with professionalism and empathy.
• Support the dental staff by scheduling appointments and managing patient flow efficiently.
• Maintain infection control protocols through proper sterilization, handling of medical records, and adherence to OSHA standards to ensure a safe environment for staff and patients.

Experience

• Previous experience working in a dental clinic or healthcare environment is highly preferred.
• Familiarity with dental terminology, medical terminology, and medical imaging techniques enhances your ability to support clinical operations effectively.
• Hands-on experience with EMR systems such as Eaglesoft or Dentrix is advantageous for managing electronic health records seamlessly.
• Knowledge of HIPAA compliance ensures confidentiality and security of patient information at all times.
• Certification or training in X-ray technology, infection control practices, or pediatric dentistry is a plus.
• Strong understanding of anatomy relevant to dentistry along with aseptic techniques supports safe clinical procedures.
• Experience with dental assisting in specialties like prosthodontics or endodontics will help you adapt quickly to diverse patient needs. Pay: $16.00 - $25.00 per hour
