Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Dental Assistant to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong foundation in dental assisting procedures, excellent communication skills, and a passion for delivering exceptional patient care. This role involves supporting dentists during procedures, managing patient records, and maintaining a sterile and efficient clinical environment to uphold the highest standards of infection control and patient safety.
Duties
- Assist dentists during various procedures including general dentistry, prosthodontics, endodontics, and pediatric dentistry with precision and professionalism.
- Prepare treatment rooms by sterilizing instruments, setting up necessary supplies, and ensuring all equipment such as X-ray machines and 3D scanners are ready for use.
- Take and develop dental radiographs (X-ray) while adhering to HIPAA regulations and aseptic techniques.
- Manage patient records using EMR (Electronic Medical Records) systems such as Dentrix or Eaglesoft, ensuring accuracy in medical documentation and coding.
- Perform chairside assisting duties including vital signs measurement, medical imaging, and applying dental terminology accurately during procedures.
- Support infection control protocols by maintaining a clean clinical environment in compliance with OSHA standards.
- Collaborate effectively with the dental team to ensure smooth clinic operations, including acting as a dental receptionist when needed to schedule appointments or handle patient inquiries.
Qualifications
- Prior experience working in a dental clinic setting with knowledge of general dentistry procedures and pediatric dentistry is highly preferred.
- Proficiency in EMR systems such as Dentrix or Eaglesoft; familiarity with Epic or similar platforms is advantageous.
- Strong understanding of HIPAA regulations related to medical records confidentiality and data security.
- Knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, infection control practices, aseptic techniques, and medical terminology.
- Experience with chairside assisting including X-ray taking, vital signs measurement, and use of 3D scanners is desirable.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to interact professionally with patients of all ages, especially pediatrics.

Pay: $25.56 - $33.66 per hour
