Responsibilities
- Prepare treatment rooms and sterilize dental instruments following aseptic techniques to maintain infection control standards.
- Assist dentists during various procedures including general dentistry, and pediatric dentistry, providing chairside support with precision and care.
- Take dental X-rays, ensuring proper technique and patient comfort.
- Manage patient record with Dentrix, ensuring accuracy and confidentiality in compliance with HIPAA regulations.
- Collect medical history information from patients to assist with diagnosis and treatment planning.
- Provide excellent customer service, answering patient inquiries, and managing documentation efficiently.
- Support the dental team with tasks like updating medical records, and documenting procedures accurately.
- Educate patients on oral hygiene practices and post-treatment care to promote overall oral health and wellness.
Requirements
- Proven experience working in a dental clinic environment with knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, infection control protocols, and aseptic techniques.
- Proficiency in dental assisting procedures including chairside assisting, taking X-rays
- Familiarity with Dentrix, and documentation.
- Strong understanding of HIPAA regulations to ensure patient privacy and data security.
- Knowledge of pediatric dentistry practices and experience supporting pediatric patients is highly desirable.
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced setting while maintaining attention to detail and excellent communication skills.
