Dental Assistant

Responsibilities

  • Prepare treatment rooms with necessary instruments, materials, and supplies for various dental procedures.
  • Assist dentists chairside during examinations, restorations, endodontics, prosthodontics, and pediatric dentistry treatments.
  • Take and develop dental X-rays, ensuring proper technique and patient comfort while adhering to HIPAA regulations for medical privacy.
  • Manage patient records using EMR (Electronic Medical Records) systems such as Dentrix maintaining accuracy and confidentiality.
  • Educate patients on oral health practices, post-treatment care, and preventive measures.
  • Follow infection control protocols using aseptic techniques to prevent cross-contamination.
  • Support administrative tasks including scheduling appointments as a dental receptionist and updating medical documentation

This general dentistry practice is seeking a qualified and highly motivated Dental Assistant

to be a positive long-term addition to our dental team. Front office experience a plus

Qualifications

and record keeping

- Strong multitasking abilities and eagerness to learn

- Detailed oriented

- X-ray license

- Experience with digital x-rays preferred

Job duties will include

- assist in four handed dentistry

-able to make high quality temporary crowns

- Prepare treatment rooms, tray setups for dental procedures

- Sterilize and disinfect instruments and equipment

- Prepare materials for making impressions and restorations.

- Assist the Dentist during examinations and treatment procedures

- Take digital x-rays as directed by the Dentist

- Comply with office policies and procedures, safety, OSHA and MSDS
guidelines.

This is a full time or part time position . Outstanding salary and benefit package for qualified candidates.'

Education:

  • High school or equivalent (Preferred)

Experience:

  • Dental Assisting: 2 years (Required)

License/Certification:

  • X-Ray Certification (Required)
  • Certified Dental Assistant (Required
  • Strong knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, and medical terminology relevant to dentistry.
  • Experience with chairside assisting techniques including four-handed dentistry and vital signs monitoring.
  • Ability to operate dental imaging equipment such as X-ray machines and 3D scanners for comprehensive diagnostics.
  • Familiarity with infection control standards and aseptic techniques specific to dental clinics.
  • Knowledge of pediatric dentistry practices and working with children in a clinical setting.
  • Understanding of HIPAA compliance, medical coding, and accurate documentation of medical records.
  • Skills in handling general dentistry procedures along with specialized areas like endodontics and prosthodontics.
