Overview
We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Dental Assistant to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in dental assisting, with expertise in chairside support, infection control, and patient care. This role offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to excellent dental experiences while working in a fast-paced, professional setting.
Responsibilities
- Assist dentists during various procedures, including general dentistry, prosthodontics, endodontics, and pediatric dentistry, ensuring smooth workflow and patient comfort.
- Prepare treatment rooms by sterilizing instruments, setting up necessary supplies, and maintaining aseptic techniques in accordance with infection control protocols.
- Take and develop dental radiographs (X-ray) using digital imaging systems such as Eaglesoft and Dentrix, ensuring accuracy and patient safety.
- Manage medical documentation and records within EMR systems like Epic, ensuring compliance with HIPAA regulations for patient confidentiality.
- Provide chairside assistance using four-handed dentistry techniques to improve efficiency and reduce procedure time.
- Monitor vital signs of patients when necessary and assist with medical imaging procedures as required.
- Support the dental receptionist by scheduling appointments, updating medical records, and managing patient flow efficiently.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in dental assisting within a clinical setting, preferably with exposure to general dentistry and pediatric dentistry.
- Proficiency in EMR systems such as Eaglesoft, Dentrix, and Epic for managing medical records and documentation.
- Knowledge of HIPAA regulations, infection control standards, and aseptic techniques essential for maintaining a safe clinical environment.
- Familiarity with dental terminology, anatomy knowledge, and medical terminology relevant to dental procedures.
- Experience with X-ray procedures and the operation of 3D scanners or other medical imaging devices is highly desirable.
- Ability to perform vital signs assessment accurately and assist with medical coding when necessary.
