Dental Assistant

Job Overview
Our start-up office in Alpharetta is looking for a Dental Assistant to become a vital part of our team! In this energetic role, you will support dentists by preparing treatment areas, assisting during procedures, and ensuring patients feel comfortable and cared for. Your expertise in dental procedures, patient communication, and infection control will help create a smooth, efficient, and welcoming environment. Duties

  • Prepare treatment rooms with necessary instruments and materials, ensuring all equipment is sterilized and ready for use.
  • Assist dentists during a variety of procedures including general dentistry, prosthodontics, endodontics, and pediatric dentistry.
  • Take and develop dental X-rays using advanced medical imaging technology such as 3D scanners while maintaining strict adherence to HIPAA regulations.
  • Manage patient records accurately using EMR systems like Eaglesoft or Dentrix, ensuring medical documentation is complete and compliant with HIPAA standards.
  • Provide chairside assistance by handling dental terminology efficiently, taking vital signs, and applying aseptic techniques to maintain infection control standards.
  • Support front desk operations as a dental receptionist when needed, including scheduling appointments and managing medical records.
  • Maintain a clean and organized clinic environment by following infection control protocols and ensuring all tools meet sterilization standards.
  • Assist with medical coding and documentation to support billing processes and ensure compliance with healthcare regulations.

Skills

  • Proficiency in dental assisting techniques including chairside assisting, X-ray procedures, and vital signs measurement.
  • Strong knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, infection control practices, and aseptic techniques.
  • Experience working with EMR systems such as Eaglesoft or Dentrix; familiarity with Epic or other medical documentation platforms is a plus.
  • Ability to perform medical imaging tasks confidently using 3D scanners and X-ray equipment.
  • Knowledge of pediatric dentistry principles to provide compassionate care for young patients.
  • Excellent communication skills to effectively interact with patients, team members, and other healthcare professionals.

We are currently looking for part-time. Monday ( 10am-6pm) and Tuesday ( 9-5pm), but will be adding Wednesday and Thursday in the near future.

Pay: $20.00 - $25.00 per hour
