Duties

  • Prepare treatment rooms with all necessary instruments, supplies, and materials for each procedure, ensuring aseptic technique is maintained at all times
  • Assist dentists chairside during various treatments including restorations, endodontics, prosthodontics, and pediatric procedures
  • Take and develop dental radiographs (X-ray) while adhering to HIPAA regulations and radiation safety protocols
  • Manage patient records accurately using EMR (Electronic Medical Records) systems such as Dentrix or Eaglesoft, including updating medical history and documenting treatment details
  • Perform vital signs assessments and medical imaging as needed to support comprehensive patient care
  • Support front desk operations by functioning as a dental receptionist when required, scheduling appointments, confirming patient information, and managing medical documentation
  • Ensure infection control standards are strictly followed through proper sterilization procedures and aseptic techniques during all clinical activities
  • Operate advanced dental technology such as 3D scanners and assist with the use of medical coding for insurance claims

Skills

  • Proficiency with dental software systems including Eaglesoft, Dentrix, or Epic for managing patient records and medical documentation
  • Strong knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, and clinical procedures across general dentistry disciplines including prosthodontics, endodontics, and pediatric dentistry
  • Experience with chairside assisting techniques such as four-handed dentistry to enhance efficiency during procedures
  • Ability to take high-quality X-ray images while maintaining safety standards for patients and staff
  • Familiarity with infection control protocols and aseptic techniques to prevent cross-contamination in the clinic environment
  • Excellent communication skills to effectively interact with patients of all ages, especially pediatrics, explaining procedures clearly and compassionately
  • Knowledge of HIPAA regulations for safeguarding patient privacy and handling sensitive medical records appropriately

Pay: $25.26 - $30.42 per hour
