Responsibilities:
- Assist the dentist during dental procedures
- Prepare treatment rooms and sterilize dental instruments
- Take and develop dental x-rays
- Provide patient education on oral hygiene and post-operative care
- Perform patient assessments, including taking vital signs and medical history
- Update and maintain patient medical records using Epic or similar software
- Assist with dental lab tasks, such as pouring models and trimming impressions
- Perform basic dental procedures, such as applying fluoride treatments and sealants
- Schedule patient appointments and manage the dental office calendar
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Completion of an accredited dental assisting program
- X-ray certification required
- Knowledge of dental terminology, procedures, and instruments
- Proficiency in medical documentation and record keeping
- Familiarity with CAD/CAM technology for digital impressions and restorations is a plus
- Experience working with pediatric patients is preferred
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to multitask and work in a fast-paced environment
