Duties

• Assist dentists chairside during a variety of dental procedures, including general dentistry, prosthodontics, endodontics, and pediatric dentistry.
• Prepare treatment rooms with necessary instruments and supplies, ensuring aseptic technique and infection control protocols are strictly followed.
• Take and develop dental radiographs (X-rays), including 3D scans when applicable, ensuring patient safety and comfort.
• Manage patient records using electronic medical record (EMR) systems such as Eaglesoft or Dentrix, ensuring accuracy and confidentiality in compliance with HIPAA regulations.
• Collect vital signs and medical history information to support comprehensive patient assessments.
• Educate patients on dental terminology, procedures, and post-treatment care to promote understanding and cooperation.
• Support the dental receptionist by scheduling appointments, verifying insurance information, and managing medical documentation efficiently.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as a Dental Assistant or in a similar dental clinic setting with knowledge of medical terminology and anatomy.
• Proficiency in EMR systems such as Eaglesoft, Dentrix, or Epic for managing medical records and documentation.
• Familiarity with infection control practices, aseptic technique, and sterilization procedures.
• Ability to perform X-ray procedures safely while adhering to radiation safety standards.
• Strong understanding of dental terminology related to general dentistry, prosthodontics, endodontics, and pediatrics.
• Excellent communication skills to effectively interact with patients of all ages and backgrounds.
