We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Pediatric Dental Assistant to join our dynamic dental team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong foundation in dental assisting procedures, patient care, and clinical support, with a focus on delivering exceptional service in a fast-paced environment. Duties
- Prepare treatment rooms by sterilizing instruments, setting up necessary supplies, and ensuring all equipment is functioning properly in accordance with infection control protocols.
- Assist dentists during various procedures including general dentistry, prosthodontics, endodontics, and pediatric dentistry, ensuring smooth workflow and patient comfort.
- Take and develop dental X-rays using digital imaging systems such as digital X-ray machines and 3D scanners, maintaining accuracy and safety standards.
- Manage patient records by updating medical documentation, medical coding, and ensuring compliance with HIPAA regulations to protect patient confidentiality.
- Provide chairside assistance by handing instruments, suctioning, and monitoring vital signs during procedures to ensure patient safety.
- Educate patients on oral hygiene practices, post-treatment care, and explain treatment plans using appropriate dental terminology.
- Operate electronic health record (EHR) systems such as Eaglesoft or Dentrix for scheduling, billing, and maintaining accurate medical records.
- Support the dental receptionist in managing appointment scheduling, patient check-in/out processes, and answering patient inquiries professionally.
- Maintain a sterile environment through aseptic technique and adhere to infection control standards to prevent cross-contamination.
- Assist with medical imaging procedures including X-ray positioning and interpretation under the supervision of the dentist or specialist.
Experience
- Prior experience working in a dental clinic setting is required, with familiarity in general dentistry procedures and pediatric dentistry preferred.
- Proficiency in dental assisting techniques including chairside assisting, taking X-rays, and operating digital imaging tools such as 3D scanners is essential.
- Knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, infection control practices, and aseptic techniques is necessary for effective patient care.
- Experience with EMR systems like Eaglesoft or Dentrix enhances workflow efficiency; familiarity with Epic or other medical documentation platforms is advantageous.
- Understanding of HIPAA regulations related to medical records management ensures compliance with privacy standards.
- Ability to perform vital signs assessment accurately and support multiple procedures simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.

Pay: $20.28 - $30.85 per hour
