Dental Assistant

We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Dental Assistant to join our dental team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in providing high-quality patient care and ensuring a smooth operation within the dental clinic. This position involves assisting the dentist during procedures, managing patient records, and maintaining a sterile environment.

Responsibilities

• Assist dentist during examinations and treatments, ensuring patient comfort and safety.
• Prepare treatment rooms by sterilizing instruments and ensuring all necessary supplies are available.
• Take appropriate radiographs as needed, adhering to safety protocols.
• Maintain accurate patient records using EMR systems such as Dentrix.
• Perform chairside assisting duties, including four-handed dentistry techniques.
• Educate patients on oral hygiene and post-treatment care.
• Assist with surgical procedures.
• Manage appointment scheduling and assist with front desk duties as a dental receptionist when required.
• Ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations and infection control protocols.
• Monitor vital signs and assist in medical imaging when necessary.
• Stay updated on dental terminology, anatomy knowledge, and advancements.

Preferred Skills

• Proficient in EMR systems, specifically Dentrix.
• Knowledge of HIPAA regulations and infection control practices.
• Familiarity with X-ray technology and medical imaging techniques.
• Ability to perform chairside assisting efficiently using four-handed dentistry techniques.
• Experience with dental documentation, records management, and dental coding is advantageous.
• Excellent interpersonal skills to communicate effectively with patients of all ages.
• Aseptic technique knowledge is essential for maintaining a sterile environment.
