Dental Assistant

In this energetic role, you will support the dentsit during a variety of procedures, ensure patient comfort, and maintain a smooth workflow. This position offers an exciting opportunity to grow your skills in a fast-paced, patient-centered setting. This office is open Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday 8:00-5:00. Pay is based off experience.

Responsibilities

• Assist dentists with clinical procedures including chairside assisting, dental imaging, and sterilization protocols
• Prepare treatment rooms by setting up necessary instruments, materials, and equipment such as X-ray machines
• Take and develop dental radiographs (X-rays), ensuring compliance with infection control standards and HIPAA regulations
• Manage patient records accurately using EMR (Electronic Medical Records) systems like Eaglesoft
• Support patient care by taking vital signs, reviewing medical history, and explaining procedures clearly using proper dental terminology
• Maintain aseptic techniques and infection control practices to ensure a safe environment for patients and staff
• Collaborate seamlessly with the dental team in four-handed dentistry to optimize efficiency during procedures in general dentistry, prosthodontics, endodontics, or pediatric dentistry

Requirements

• Proven experience as a Dental Assistant in a busy dental clinic setting with knowledge of dental assisting best practices
• Strong understanding of dental terminology, anatomy knowledge, infection control protocols, and aseptic techniques
• Excellent communication skills to effectively support pediatric dentistry patients and explain procedures clearly
• Knowledge of HIPAA regulations to ensure confidentiality of medical records and documentation
• Certification in radiography (X-ray) is required; additional certifications in pediatric dentistry or endodontics are advantageous
