Job Summary
We are seeking a motivated and experienced Dental Assistant with an active X-ray license to join our dynamic dental team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in providing high-quality dental care to our patients while ensuring a smooth and efficient workflow in the practice. This position requires a strong understanding of dental terminology, procedures, and the ability to assist in various dental specialties, including pediatrics, endodontics, and prosthodontics.
Responsibilities
- Assist with general dental procedures, including fillings, root canals, crowns, bridges, extractions, and implants.
- Take bitewing, PA, and FMX radiographs following safety protocols.
- Take alginate impressions and fabricate temporary crowns under supervision.
- Set up anesthetic trays, assist with rubber dam and matrix band placement.
- Ensure operatories and instruments are clean and properly sterilized according to OSHA & infection control standards.
- Provide clear pre- and post-treatment instructions to patients.
- Keep patients comfortable and reassured throughout their visit.
- Accurately chart patient information into the Dentrix system.
- Monitor and restock clinical supplies.
- Work collaboratively with dentists, hygienists, and the front office to ensure smooth daily operations.
Requirements
- Proven experience as a Dental Assistant.
- Knowledge of dental terminology, procedures, and systems is essential.
- Familiarity with medical imaging techniques and X-ray equipment is highly desirable.
- Experience in pediatrics, endodontics, or prosthodontics is a plus.
- Ability to take vital signs accurately and respond appropriately to patient needs.
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail in maintaining patient records.
- Excellent communication skills for effective interaction with patients and team members.
- Certification in dental assisting is required.
- Experience monitoring nitrous oxide
- Familiarity with Dentrix or similar EMR software.
