Dental Assistant

Duties

  • Assist dentists chairside during general dentistry procedures, including taking and developing X-ray images and operating 3D scanners.
  • Prepare treatment rooms by sterilizing instruments using aseptic techniques and ensuring all dental equipment is functioning properly.
  • Manage patient records accurately within Electronic Medical Records (EMR) systems, ensuring compliance with HIPAA regulations for patient privacy.
  • Take vital signs and medical histories to support comprehensive patient assessments and coordinate with medical documentation protocols.
  • Support dental reception duties by scheduling appointments, verifying insurance information, and managing patient flow efficiently.
  • Maintain infection control standards by adhering to strict protocols for sterilization, handling medical imaging equipment, and practicing proper anatomy knowledge during procedures.
  • Assist with coding and documentation to ensure accurate billing and recordkeeping in compliance with healthcare regulations.

Qualifications

  • Proven experience as a Dental Assistant with knowledge of dental terminology and clinical procedures.
  • Proficiency in EMR systems.
  • Strong understanding of infection control practices, aseptic technique, and sterilization procedures.
  • Ability to operate dental imaging equipment including X-ray machines.
  • Knowledge of dental anatomy.
  • Excellent communication skills to collaborate seamlessly with dentists, hygienists, and administrative staff while providing compassionate patient support.
  • EFDA certification preferred.

Pay: $20.00 - $25.00 per hour
