Duties

• Prepare treatment rooms with necessary instruments and materials, ensuring all equipment is sterilized and ready for use according to infection control standards.
• Assist dentist during various procedures by handing instruments, managing suction devices, and maintaining a clear field of operation.
• Take and develop dental X-rays using advanced imaging technology such as 3D scanners while adhering to HIPAA regulations for patient privacy.
• Collect vital signs and medical history information from patients to support accurate diagnosis and treatment planning.
• Maintain accurate medical documentation and records within EMR (Electronic Medical Records) systems like OpenDental, ensuring compliance with HIPAA guidelines.
• Support administrative tasks including scheduling appointments, managing patient flow as a dental receptionist, and verifying insurance information.
• Practice four-handed dentistry techniques to maximize efficiency and comfort during procedures while maintaining aseptic techniques and proper anatomy knowledge.

Qualifications

• Proven experience working in a dental clinic environment with familiarity in dental assisting procedures.
• Knowledge of dental terminology, infection control practices, and anatomy relevant to oral health.
• Proficiency with dental software systems such as OpenDental for medical records management.
• Ability to operate X-ray machines safely and effectively; certification in radiography is required.
• Strong understanding of infection control protocols and aseptic techniques to ensure patient safety.
• Excellent communication skills to interact professionally with patients of all ages and collaborate effectively with team members. Pay: From $20.00 per hour
