Dental Assistant

Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Dental Assistant to join our dental practice. The ideal candidate will support the dental team by providing exceptional chairside assistance, managing patient care, and ensuring smooth clinic operations. This role offers an opportunity to work in a fast-paced environment, utilizing advanced dental technology and maintaining high standards of infection control and patient confidentiality. Prior experience with electronic medical records and familiarity with various dental specialties are highly valued.

Duties

  • Assist the dentist during a variety of treatment procedures, including general dentistry and pediatric dentistry
  • Prepare treatment rooms with necessary instruments and materials, ensuring aseptic technique and infection control protocols are followed
  • Take and develop dental X-rays using digital imaging systems
  • Record vital signs and medical history information accurately in EMR Curve
  • Manage patient records, medical documentation, and ensure HIPAA compliance for patient privacy
  • Provide patient education on oral health care and post-treatment instructions
  • Operate dental equipment efficiently, including intraoral cameras and other dental technology
  • Support administrative tasks such as scheduling appointments and managing medical records as a dental receptionist when needed
  • Maintain a clean and organized clinical environment adhering to infection control standards

Skills

  • Proficiency with EMR systems such as Eaglesoft, Dentrix, Epic, or similar platforms
  • Knowledge of HIPAA regulations and medical documentation standards
  • Experience with dental imaging equipment including X-ray machines and 3D scanners
  • Familiarity with dental terminology across various specialties like prosthodontics, endodontics, pediatrics, and general dentistry
  • Skilled in chairside assisting techniques including four-handed dentistry and aseptic procedures
  • Ability to take vital signs accurately and understand anatomy knowledge relevant to dental procedures
  • Experience with infection control practices within a dental clinic setting
  • Strong understanding of medical terminology and coding for accurate record keeping
  • Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail
  • This position is integral to providing high-quality patient care while supporting the clinical team with technical expertise and compassionate service.

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time

Pay: $23.00 - $28.00 per hour
