Dental Assistant (1yrs exp req)

Job Summary
We are a well-established dental practice proudly serving our community for over 28 years. Our office is known for providing quality, compassionate care in a professional and welcoming environment. We are seeking a dependable and motivated Dental Assistant to join our team part-time, with the opportunity to transition into a full-time position in the future. Must be bilingual (English/Spanish required)

Schedule Needed:

  • Monday
  • Friday
  • Saturday

Duties

  • Assist the dentist during examinations and procedures, ensuring a smooth workflow through four-handed dentistry techniques.
  • Prepare and maintain treatment rooms, ensuring all necessary instruments and materials are sterilized and ready for use.
  • Take X-rays as needed, adhering to safety protocols and regulations.
  • Manage patient records using EMR systems such as Dentrix ensuring compliance with HIPAA regulations.
  • Conduct preliminary assessments including taking vital signs and documenting medical history.
  • Provide chairside assistance during various dental procedures including general dentistry, endodontics, prosthodontics, and pediatric dentistry.
  • Educate patients on post-operative care and proper oral hygiene practices.
  • Maintain an organized inventory of dental supplies and equipment, placing orders as necessary.
  • Uphold infection control standards in accordance with aseptic techniques and clinic policies.

Skills

  • Proficient in using EMR systems such as Dentrix
  • Knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, and procedures relevant to general dentistry, pediatrics, endodontics, prosthodontics, and more.
  • Experience with medical imaging techniques including X-rays and 3D scanning technologies.
  • Familiarity with infection control protocols and aseptic techniques to ensure patient safety.
  • Strong communication skills to effectively interact with patients and team members.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment while managing multiple tasks efficiently.
