We are seeking a dependable and motivated Dental Assistant to join our team part-time, with the opportunity to transition into a full-time position in the future. Must be bilingual (English/Spanish required)
Schedule Needed:
Duties
- Assist the dentist during examinations and procedures, ensuring a smooth workflow through four-handed dentistry techniques.
- Prepare and maintain treatment rooms, ensuring all necessary instruments and materials are sterilized and ready for use.
- Take X-rays as needed, adhering to safety protocols and regulations.
- Manage patient records using EMR systems such as Dentrix ensuring compliance with HIPAA regulations.
- Conduct preliminary assessments including taking vital signs and documenting medical history.
- Provide chairside assistance during various dental procedures including general dentistry, endodontics, prosthodontics, and pediatric dentistry.
- Educate patients on post-operative care and proper oral hygiene practices.
- Maintain an organized inventory of dental supplies and equipment, placing orders as necessary.
- Uphold infection control standards in accordance with aseptic techniques and clinic policies.
Skills
- Proficient in using EMR systems such as Dentrix
- Knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, and procedures relevant to general dentistry, pediatrics, endodontics, prosthodontics, and more.
- Experience with medical imaging techniques including X-rays and 3D scanning technologies.
- Familiarity with infection control protocols and aseptic techniques to ensure patient safety.
- Strong communication skills to effectively interact with patients and team members.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment while managing multiple tasks efficiently.
