Dental Assistant-2 Years Experience

Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Dental Assistant to join our dynamic dental team in a highly successful privately owned dental practice. The ideal candidate will possess a strong foundation in dental assisting procedures, excellent communication skills, and a commitment to providing exceptional patient care and compassion. As a Dental Assistant, you will support dentists during procedures, manage patient records, and ensure the smooth operation of the dental practice. Your expertise in various dental software systems and clinical techniques will contribute to delivering high-quality dental services in a professional environment.

Duties

  • Assist dentists during a variety of dental procedures, including general dentistry, prosthodontics, endodontics, and pediatric dentistry.
  • Prepare treatment rooms by sterilizing instruments and ensuring all necessary supplies are available for patient appointments.
  • Take digital radiographs (X-rays), ensuring compliance with infection control and aseptic techniques.
  • Manage patient records using electronic health record (EHR) systems such as Eaglesoft, Dentrix, or Epic, maintaining accuracy and confidentiality in accordance with HIPAA regulations.
  • Perform chairside assisting with four-handed dentistry to improve efficiency and patient comfort.
  • Monitor vital signs and medical documentation when necessary to support comprehensive patient assessments.
  • Educate patients on oral health practices, post-treatment care, and treatment plans using clear dental terminology.
  • Maintain infection control protocols and ensure the clinic adheres to all safety standards related to medical imaging and sterilization procedures.
  • Support administrative tasks such as scheduling appointments with the dental receptionist and managing medical coding for billing purposes.
  • Operate advanced equipment including 3D scanners and other medical imaging devices to assist in diagnosis and treatment planning.
  • 3D digital on site dental lab.

Experience

  • Prior experience working in a dental clinic environment is essential, with familiarity in general dentistry and prosthodontics.
  • Proficiency in dental software systems such as Eaglesoft, Dentrix, or Epic is required for efficient management of medical records and documentation.
  • Knowledge of HIPAA regulations and infection control standards is mandatory to ensure patient privacy and safety.
  • Demonstrated ability to perform X-ray procedures accurately while maintaining aseptic technique.
  • Strong understanding of dental terminology, anatomy knowledge, and medical terminology relevant to dental practice.
  • Experience with medical coding for billing purposes is advantageous but not mandatory.
