- 2 years dental experience
- Proficient in making temporary crowns
- Familiar with itero scanner
Duties
- Prepare treatment rooms by sterilizing instruments, setting up dental tools, and ensuring all equipment is functioning properly in accordance with aseptic techniques.
- Assist dentists during a variety of procedures including general dentistry, prosthodontics, endodontics, and pediatric dentistry by handing instruments, managing suction, and maintaining a clear field of view.
- Take and develop dental X-rays using advanced imaging technology such as 3D scanners while adhering to HIPAA regulations for patient privacy.
- Manage patient records efficiently using electronic medical record (EMR) systems like Eaglesoft or Dentrix, ensuring accuracy in medical documentation and coding.
- Monitor vital signs and medical history to ensure patient safety before procedures; communicate any concerns to the dental team promptly.
- Provide exceptional chairside assistance by explaining procedures to patients, answering questions about dental terminology, and ensuring their comfort throughout treatment.
- Support administrative tasks such as scheduling appointments with the dental receptionist, updating medical records, and maintaining infection control protocols across the clinic.
Qualifications
- Proven experience as a Dental Assistant or in a similar role within a busy dental clinic environment.
- Proficiency with EMR systems including Eaglesoft, Dentrix, or Epic; familiarity with medical coding and documentation standards.
- Strong knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, infection control practices, and aseptic techniques.
- Ability to perform X-ray procedures safely while following radiation safety guidelines; experience with 3D scanners is a plus.
- Knowledge of pediatric dentistry practices and experience assisting in pediatric cases preferred.
- Excellent communication skills for interacting with patients of all ages; ability to explain procedures clearly and compassionately.
- Certification in radiography or dental assisting from an accredited program; CPR certification is desirable.
