We are currently seeking a skilled and compassionate Dental Assistant to join our team and help us deliver outstanding care.
Job Summary: The Dental Assistant provides chairside support to dentists during patient examinations and procedures, ensures sterilization of instruments, maintains patient records, and educates patients on oral hygiene. This role requires strong communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities:
- Assist the dentist during procedures, including passing instruments, suctioning, and mixing materials.
- Prepare treatment rooms with necessary instruments and materials.
- Sterilize dental instruments and equipment following OSHA and CDC guidelines.
- Take and develop dental X-rays as directed.
- Record patient medical history and treatment plans in electronic health records.
- Educate patients on oral hygiene, post-operative care, and preventive care.
- Manage patient scheduling, check-ins, and appointment reminders.
- Order and maintain dental supplies and inventory.
- Handle infection control procedures, including disinfecting treatment areas.
Qualifications & Skills:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Completion of an accredited dental assistant program, or 1 year experience, required.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work in a team-oriented environment.
- Proficiency with dental software and electronic health records.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to stand, walk, or sit for extended periods.
- Frequent bending, stooping, and reaching to assist the dentist and access supplies.
- Hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity for handling instruments and assisting with procedures.
- Ability to lift and move up to 25 lbs (e.g., equipment, supply boxes).
- Comfortable wearing personal protective equipment (PPE), including masks, gloves, and eyewear.
- Ability to communicate clearly with patients and staff, both verbally and in writing.
Work Environment:
- Dental office or clinic setting.
- Exposure to bloodborne pathogens and infectious materials (proper training and PPE provided).
- Fast-paced environment with a high level of interaction with patients and staff.
Schedule:
- Monday–Wednesday and alternating Fridays
- Approximately 20-30 hours per week.
Location:
- 1522 West Garfield Ave, Bartonville, IL 61607
- Must be able to travel between other offices as needed for operational necessity. (Peoria, Washington, and occasionally Canton.)
