Dental Assistant/ DA or RDA

Come join our wonderful team. We are an established quality family dental practice in Saratoga, looking to hire a friendly, reliable and knowledgeable dental assistant.

The candidate must be detail oriented, punctual, organized and have excellent customer service and communication skills.

Experience with Dentrix/Dexis is a plus.

The days are: Tuesdays (9:00-5:00), Thursdays (9:00-5:00), Fridays (8:00-5:00) and one Saturday per month (8:00-2:00). The total is approximately 20-25 hours/week.

Responsibilities:

• Assisting the dentist during a variety of treatment procedures
• Taking Digital dental radiographs (x-rays)
• Asking about the patient's medical history and taking blood pressure and pulse
• Helping with infection control by disinfecting and sterilizing instruments, setting up instrument trays, preparing materials, and assisting with dental procedures.
• Caring for some dental equipment.
• Helping patients feel comfortable before, during and after dental treatment
• Providing patients with instructions for oral care following dental treatment procedures
• Teaching patients appropriate oral hygiene strategies to maintain oral health.
• Performing office management tasks that often require the use of a personal computer
• Some occasional front desk duties like communicating with patients and suppliers (e.g., scheduling appointments, answering the telephone, billing and ordering supplies).

• Dental x-ray license.
• Knowledge of dental instruments and sterilization methods.

• Well-organized and reliable.
• High school diploma; graduating from dental assistant school is preferred but not required.
