Overview - Full Time Monday through Friday
We are seeking a dynamic and versatile Dental Assistant Float to join our team. This role offers the opportunity to support multiple dental practices within our institute, ensuring seamless patient care across various specialties including general dentistry, pediatric dentistry, prosthodontics, and endodontics. The ideal candidate will thrive in a fast-paced environment, demonstrating flexibility, excellent clinical skills, and a passion for delivering outstanding patient experiences.

Duties

  • Provide chairside assistance during a wide range of dental procedures across different specialties.
  • Assist with patient intake, including taking vital signs and medical history updates while ensuring HIPAA compliance for patient confidentiality
  • Operate and maintain dental equipment such as X-ray machines, 3D scanners, and medical imaging devices following infection control protocols and aseptic techniques
  • Manage electronic health records using EMR systems like Dentrix, ensuring accurate documentation of treatments and medical records
  • Support infection control procedures by adhering to OSHA standards and maintaining a sterile environment
  • Assist with administrative tasks such as scheduling appointments, answering patient inquiries as a dental receptionist, and updating medical documentation
  • Collaborate with the dental team to ensure efficient workflow through four-handed dentistry techniques and effective communication

Requirements

  • Proven experience as a Dental Assistant with knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, and medical terminology
  • Proficiency in EMR systems such as Dentrix
  • Certification in X-ray techniques and familiarity with medical coding for dental procedures
  • Strong understanding of infection control practices, aseptic technique, and sterilization processes
  • Ability to perform vital signs assessment and assist with medical imaging procedures accurately
  • Excellent communication skills to effectively interact with patients and team members in a fast-paced environment
