Job Overview
We are seeking a friendly, dedicated and skilled Dental Assistant to join our dynamic team in a fully private dental clinic. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in providing exceptional patient care while assisting the dental professionals in various procedures. This position requires a strong understanding of dental practices, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment.
Responsibilities
- Assist dentists during examinations and procedures, ensuring all necessary tools and materials are readily available.
- Prepare and sterilize instruments and equipment according to established protocols.
- Take and develop dental radiographs (X-rays) as needed, utilizing medical imaging techniques.
- Maintain accurate medical records and documentation for each patient visit, including medical coding as required.
- Educate patients on oral hygiene practices and post-treatment care instructions.
- Manage appointment scheduling using Dentrix software, ensuring efficient patient flow within the clinic.
- Support pediatric patients by creating a welcoming environment and addressing their unique needs during visits.
- Assist with prosthodontics and endodontics procedures as directed by the dentist.
- Operate 3D scanners for advanced imaging when necessary, contributing to treatment planning.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent; completion of a dental assistant program preferred.
- Previous experience in a dental clinic setting is highly desirable, particularly in general dentistry, pediatrics, prosthodontics, or endodontics.
- Proficiency with OpenDental software and familiarity with medical records management is an advantage.
- Knowledge of medical imaging techniques and 3D scanning technology is beneficial.
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively with patients of all ages.
- Attention to detail and ability to maintain a clean and organized work environment.
- Certification in CPR or Basic Life Support (BLS) is preferred but not mandatory.
