Dental Assistant - Full Time (4 Days)

Overview
We are a family owned general dental practice seeking a dedicated and skilled Dental Assistant to join our team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in providing exceptional patient care while assisting the dentist in various procedures.

This position requires a strong understanding of dental terminology, infection control practices, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment. The Dental Assistant will also be responsible for ensuring that the clinic runs smoothly and efficiently.

Responsibilities

• Assist the dentist during examinations and procedures using four-handed dentistry techniques
• Prepare and maintain dental instruments and equipment, ensuring they are sterile and ready for use
• Take and develop X-rays, utilizing appropriate safety protocols
• Manage patient records, including medical documentation and medical records, while adhering to HIPAA regulations
• Provide chairside assistance during various dental procedures, including restorative, simple extractions, prosthodontic work
• Educate patients on oral hygiene practices and post-operative care
• Monitor vital signs as necessary during treatments
• Utilize electronic systems such as Dentrix or Open Dental for patient management
• Maintain a clean and organized work environment in accordance with infection control standards

Experience
Candidates should possess the following skills and experience:

• Proficiency with EMR systems, specifically Dentrix or Open Dental
• Knowledge of dental terminology and anatomy
• Experience in chairside assisting within a dental clinic setting
• Understanding of aseptic techniques and infection control protocols
• Ability to perform intra-oral scanning (Medit Scanner) is helpful
