Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Dental Assistant II to join our vibrant dental team. Responsibilities
- Assist dentists during a wide range of dental procedures including restorations, extractions, and endodontic treatments using four-handed dentistry techniques.
- Prepare treatment rooms by sterilizing instruments, setting up dental materials, and ensuring all equipment is functioning properly following aseptic techniques.
- Take and develop dental radiographs (X-ray), ensuring proper positioning and safety protocols in compliance with HIPAA regulations.
- Conduct vital signs assessments and medical imaging as needed for pediatric and general dentistry patients.
- Support infection control protocols by maintaining a clean environment, sterilizing instruments, and adhering to OSHA standards.
- Assist with medical documentation, coding procedures for insurance billing, and managing medical records efficiently.
- Provide excellent customer service as a dental receptionist when needed, greeting patients and scheduling appointments.
- Operate advanced dental technology including 3D scanners to assist with prosthodontics or orthodontic cases.
- Educate patients on oral health practices, treatment plans, and post-procedure care to promote overall wellness.
Qualifications
- Proven experience as a Dental Assistant with knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, and infection control practices.
- Proficiency in EMR systems such as Dentrix or Eaglesoft; familiarity with Epic is a plus.
- Strong understanding of HIPAA regulations related to patient privacy and medical documentation standards.
- Experience with X-ray procedures, medical imaging, and vital signs measurement in pediatric or general dentistry settings.
- Ability to perform chairside assisting efficiently while maintaining aseptic technique in a fast-paced environment.
- Knowledge of dental specialties including prosthodontics, endodontics, pediatric dentistry, and general dentistry procedures.
- Familiarity with medical terminology, coding for insurance purposes, and electronic health record management.
- Excellent communication skills to collaborate effectively with team members such as dental receptionists and hygienists.
