Job Title: Dental Assistant II

Employment Type: Part-time (2–3 days/week, potential for full-time)
Patient-centered dental office seeking an experienced Dental Assistant II to join our team. This is a part-time position (2–3 days per week) with the possibility of transitioning to full-time. The ideal candidate is highly organized, able to multitask in a fast-paced environment, and bilingual (Spanish/English preferred).
Key Responsibilities
- Assist the dentist during a wide range of dental procedures.
- Prepare treatment rooms, instruments, and materials.
- Take and process digital X-rays and intraoral photos.
- Perform coronal polishing, sealants, and other DA II–permitted procedures (per state regulations).
- Maintain accurate patient records and charting.
- Sterilize instruments and ensure infection control compliance.
- Manage multiple tasks such as room turnover, assisting, and front-office support as needed.
- Communicate clearly and professionally with patients and team members.
- Bilingual communication with patients is a strong plus.
Qualifications
- Current Dental Assistant II certification and licenses required by NC.
- CPR/BLS certification.
- Minimum 1 years of chairside assisting experience preferred.
- Strong multitasking and time-management skills.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills.
- Bilingual (english/spanish is a plus)
- Familiarity with dental software (open dental) preferred.
- Part-time: 2–3 days per week
- Potential to grow into a full-time position based on performance and practice needs.
Responsibilities
- Assist the dentist during examinations and procedures, ensuring a smooth workflow through four-handed dentistry techniques.
- Prepare treatment rooms by sterilizing instruments and ensuring all necessary materials are available.
- Take dental X-rays, adhering to safety protocols and HIPAA regulations.
- Maintain accurate medical records and documentation, including patient histories and treatment plans using EMR systems.
- Educate patients on oral hygiene practices, post-operative care, and treatment options.
- Manage appointment scheduling and assist with front desk duties as needed, including handling medical documentation and coding.
- Ensure compliance with infection control protocols and aseptic techniques to maintain a safe environment for patients and staff.
- Monitor vital signs when necessary and assist in pediatric dentistry procedures with a focus on creating a comfortable experience for young patients.
- Previous experience as a Dental Assistant or in a dental clinic setting is preferred.
- Knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, and procedures related to general dentistry, prosthodontics, endodontics, and pediatrics is essential.
- Familiarity with medical imaging techniques and the use of 3D scanners is advantageous.
- Strong understanding of HIPAA regulations and medical record management practices.
