Job Title: Dental Assistant II
Location: Charlotte
Employment Type: Part-time (2–3 days/week, potential for full-time)

Patient-centered dental office seeking an experienced Dental Assistant II to join our team. This is a part-time position (2–3 days per week) with the possibility of transitioning to full-time. The ideal candidate is highly organized, able to multitask in a fast-paced environment, and bilingual (Spanish/English preferred).

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist the dentist during a wide range of dental procedures.
  • Prepare treatment rooms, instruments, and materials.
  • Take and process digital X-rays and intraoral photos.
  • Perform coronal polishing, sealants, and other DA II–permitted procedures (per state regulations).
  • Maintain accurate patient records and charting.
  • Sterilize instruments and ensure infection control compliance.
  • Manage multiple tasks such as room turnover, assisting, and front-office support as needed.
  • Communicate clearly and professionally with patients and team members.
  • Bilingual communication with patients is a strong plus.

Qualifications

  • Current Dental Assistant II certification and licenses required by NC.
  • CPR/BLS certification.
  • Minimum 1 years of chairside assisting experience preferred.
  • Strong multitasking and time-management skills.
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills.
  • Bilingual (english/spanish is a plus)
  • Familiarity with dental software (open dental) preferred.
  • Part-time: 2–3 days per week
  • Potential to grow into a full-time position based on performance and practice needs.

Responsibilities

  • Assist the dentist during examinations and procedures, ensuring a smooth workflow through four-handed dentistry techniques.
  • Prepare treatment rooms by sterilizing instruments and ensuring all necessary materials are available.
  • Take dental X-rays, adhering to safety protocols and HIPAA regulations.
  • Maintain accurate medical records and documentation, including patient histories and treatment plans using EMR systems.
  • Educate patients on oral hygiene practices, post-operative care, and treatment options.
  • Manage appointment scheduling and assist with front desk duties as needed, including handling medical documentation and coding.
  • Ensure compliance with infection control protocols and aseptic techniques to maintain a safe environment for patients and staff.
  • Monitor vital signs when necessary and assist in pediatric dentistry procedures with a focus on creating a comfortable experience for young patients.
  • Previous experience as a Dental Assistant or in a dental clinic setting is preferred.
  • Knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, and procedures related to general dentistry, prosthodontics, endodontics, and pediatrics is essential.
  • Familiarity with medical imaging techniques and the use of 3D scanners is advantageous.
  • Strong understanding of HIPAA regulations and medical record management practices.
