We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Dental Assistant / Registered Dental Assistant (RDA) / Expanded Functions Dental Auxiliary (EFDA) to join our dynamic dental team. The ideal candidate will possess a comprehensive understanding of dental procedures, excellent patient care skills, and proficiency in dental technology and documentation. This role offers an opportunity to work in a fast-paced environment where your expertise directly contributes to improving patient oral health and providing exceptional dental services. The successful applicant will be responsible for supporting dentists during various procedures, managing patient records, and ensuring compliance with all safety and infection control protocols.

Responsibilities

  • Assist dentists during a wide range of procedures including restorative, prosthodontics, endodontics, and pediatric dentistry, ensuring smooth workflow and patient comfort.
  • Prepare treatment rooms with necessary instruments, materials, and equipment, maintaining aseptic technique and infection control standards.
  • Take and develop dental radiographs (X-ray), utilizing digital imaging systems such as Eaglesoft or Dentrix, while adhering to HIPAA regulations for patient privacy.
  • Manage electronic medical records (EMR systems) efficiently, documenting treatment details accurately in compliance with medical documentation standards.
  • Perform chairside assisting tasks including vital signs measurement, medical imaging, and providing support during complex procedures such as 3D scanning or prosthetic placement.
  • Educate patients on oral health practices, post-treatment care, and assist with administrative duties such as scheduling appointments and managing the dental reception area.
  • Maintain inventory of dental supplies and sterilize instruments according to infection control protocols to ensure a safe clinical environment.
  • Support the dental team with general clinic operations by demonstrating excellent communication skills and teamwork in four-handed dentistry practices.

Experience

  • Prior experience working in a dental clinic setting with familiarity in general dentistry procedures is required; experience in pediatric dentistry or specialized fields such as prosthodontics or endodontics is preferred.
  • Proficiency with dental software platforms.
  • Knowledge of HIPAA regulations related to patient privacy and medical records management is essential.
  • Demonstrated understanding of dental terminology, anatomy knowledge, infection control practices, and aseptic techniques is necessary for success in this role.
  • Ability to perform X-ray procedures confidently while maintaining safety standards for patients and staff.
  • Strong communication skills suitable for interacting effectively with patients of all ages, especially pediatrics, ensuring a positive experience within a busy clinical environment.

Pay: $25.00 - $40.00 per hour
