Duties
- Prepare treatment rooms and sterilize dental instruments in accordance with strict aseptic techniques and infection control protocols.
- Assist dentists during various procedures including general dentistry, prosthodontics, endodontics, and pediatric dentistry with precision and efficiency.
- Take and develop dental X-rays and 3D scans, ensuring high-quality imaging for accurate diagnosis and treatment planning.
- Manage electronic medical records (EMR systems) such as Ascend or any dental software to document patient information accurately while maintaining HIPAA compliance.
- Perform chairside assisting duties, including taking vital signs, explaining procedures to patients, and ensuring patient comfort throughout treatments.
- Support administrative tasks such as scheduling appointments, managing medical records, and coordinating with the dental reception team.
- Maintain a clean, organized clinic environment adhering to infection control standards and OSHA regulations.
- Assist in dental coding for billing purposes using appropriate dental terminology and medical documentation practices.
Experience
- Proven experience working in a dental clinic setting with familiarity in general dentistry procedures.
- Knowledge of dental assisting techniques including four-handed dentistry and chairside support.
- Proficiency with EMR systems like Ascend, dentrix or Eaglesoft. Training with Ascend will be provided.
- Hands-on experience with X-ray procedures, dental imaging, and 3D scanner technology.
- Understanding of HIPAA regulations related to patient privacy and data security.
- Background in ortho/ surgery is highly desirable.
- Strong knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, infection control practices, and aseptic techniques.
- Certification as a Registered Dental Assistant (RDA) or equivalent credential required; additional certifications in CPR, Coronal Polish and sealant placements are a plus. Pay: $27.00 - $35.00 per hour
