Dental Assistant - Thursday & Friday

Hours needed:

Thursday 7:30am - 5pm

Friday 7am - 2pm

Currently looking for a part-time dental assistant to start immediately. Candidate must be motivated, self starter and quick learner. Good hand-eye coordination is typically a good match for dental assisting positions. Candidate must be able to take direction from doctor, hygienist, office manager and other assistants when necessary. Previous assisting experience is preferred, but willing to train if candidate is the right fit and expressed interest in the field.

Treatments include: cosmetic and restorative dentistry, oral surgery, endodontics, orthodontics and implant dentistry. We are a fully electronic office (no paper charts).

Position: Dental Assistant.

Position Summary: As the dental assistant, you will be the dentist’s right hand; an integral part of every treatment and patient experience.

Basic Responsibilities:

• Escort patients from waiting room to dental operatory
• Prepare dental operatory for procedures. Arrange dental instruments and materials on chairside tray to be used by dentist
• Assist dentist during examination and treatment of patients
• Prepare materials and pass instruments to dentist during procedures
• Take and process digital x-rays
• Perform digital intra-oral scans of patient's teeth
• Prepare instruments and handpieces for sterilization
• Store instruments in proper location and turn over operatory for next patient
• Perform basic lab work necessary for patient cases (pouring stone casts, making custom trays, etc)
• Prepare patient chart, chart lesions, and chart various abnormalities as diagnosed by the dentist (will train)
• Assist with Orthodontic procedures (we will train if necessary)

Requirements - Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

• Experience with dental assisting (preferred)
• Must communicate well
• Have the ability and willingness to learn on the job
• Have the ability to provide excellent customer service and hospitality
• Have the ability to communicate effectively with patients
• Must be punctual
• Must be organized, outgoing, reliable, compassionate, professional
• Have the ability to multi-task
• Be able to work free from distraction (no mobile phones in patient rooms)
