Job Summary
Join our dynamic dental team as a Dental Assistant working Tuesday through Friday! Duties
- Prepare treatment rooms and sterilize instruments using aseptic techniques to maintain a sterile environment.
- Assist dentists during a variety of procedures including general dentistry, pediatric dentistry, prosthodontics, and endodontics.
- Take and develop X-rays, including 3D scans, ensuring accurate medical imaging for diagnosis and treatment planning.
- Manage patient records electronically using EMR systems such as Eaglesoft or Dentrix, ensuring HIPAA compliance and confidentiality.
- Monitor vital signs and assist with medical documentation to support comprehensive patient care.
- Provide chairside assistance with four-handed dentistry techniques to enhance efficiency during procedures.
- Educate patients on dental terminology, post-operative care, and infection control procedures to promote oral health awareness.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in dental assisting within a busy dental clinic environment, with knowledge of medical terminology and anatomy.
- Familiarity with EMR systems such as Eaglesoft, Dentrix, or Epic; experience with medical coding and records management is a plus.
- Strong understanding of infection control practices, aseptic technique, and sterilization protocols.
- Ability to perform X-ray procedures accurately while adhering to safety standards.
- Knowledge of pediatric dentistry principles and experience working with pediatric patients preferred.
- Excellent communication skills as a dental receptionist or in patient-facing roles; ability to explain procedures clearly.
- Certification in dental assisting or relevant training; additional certifications in medical imaging or pediatric dentistry are advantageous. Pay: $21.00 - $23.00 per hour
