Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Dental Assistant to join Kelty McLaurin Pediatric Dentistry. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in ensuring a smooth and efficient workflow within the clinic while providing exceptional care to our patients. This position requires a blend of technical skills and interpersonal abilities, as you will work with children and special needs patients, manage patient records, and maintain a clean and organized environment.
Responsibilities
- Ensuring that all necessary instruments are prepared and available.
- Take and develop dental radiographs (X-rays) as directed by the dentist.
- Perform coronal polishing procedures to remove plaque and stains from teeth, enhancing patient oral health and aesthetics
- Maintain accurate medical documentation and update electronic patient health records, ensuring compliance with privacy regulations.
- Educate patients on oral hygiene practices and instructions.
- Manage infection control protocols to ensure a safe environment for both patients and staff.
- Collaborate with the dental team to provide high-quality patient care.
Skills .
- Valid certification in Coronal Polishing from an accredited program
- KY Xray certification
- Strong understanding of medical documentation practices and medical terminology.
- Knowledge of anatomy relevant to dental procedures.
- Familiarity with pediatric dentistry is a plus.
- Excellent communication skills to effectively interact with patients, parents and team members.
- Strong attention to detail, particularly in infection control measures and procedural protocols.
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining a positive attitude.
- Proven experience as a Dental Assistant in a general or pediatric dental setting with proficiency in dental assisting procedures
- Knowledge of HIPAA regulations to ensure patient confidentiality and privacy compliance
