Dental Assistant/Entry Level Lab Tech

Job Summary
We are seeking a dependable, detail‑oriented Dental Assistant to join our team in a unique hybrid role that blends chairside assisting with hands‑on training in our removable denture laboratory. This position is perfect for an experienced or new dental assistant who wants to expand their skill set and learn the fundamentals of denture fabrication and repair.

You will use your clinical skills daily while completing a 90‑day training program to learn essential lab techniques. No prior lab experience is required.

Dental Assisting Responsibilties (Required Experience)

• Assist the dentist during procedures, including operatory setup and breakdown
• Take preliminary impressions
• Capture digital panoramic images
• Sterilize instruments and maintain strict infection‑control standards
• Support patient comfort and communicate professionally
• Accurately document treatment notes, procedures, and patient information in the practice management system
• Maintain smooth clinical flow throughout the day

Lab Responsibilities (Training Provided)

You will be trained to perform all entry‑level removable lab technician duties, including:

Model Work & Case Preparation

• Pour and trim stone models
• Mount models on articulators
• Label, organize, and prepare cases for production

Custom Tray & Bite Registration Fabrication

• Fabricate custom impression trays
• Create and adjust bite rims
• Assist with jaw relation records and occlusal plane marking

Wax & Acrylic Work

• Assist with tooth setup in wax
• Perform wax‑ups and basic wax adjustments
• Prepare acrylic for processing
• Pour cure processing technique

Repairs, Relines & Adjustments

• Perform basic denture and partial repairs (cracks, broken teeth, clasp repairs)
• Assist with chairside and lab relines
• Smooth, trim, and polish repaired or relined appliances
• Support adjustments under supervision

Finishing & Quality Support

• Trim, smooth, and polish removable appliances
• Assist with final case checks and quality control
• Maintain a clean, organized, and efficient lab environment

General Office & Clinical Support

• Monitor and restock clinical and lab supplies
• Assist with case tracking and organization
• Communicate effectively with the clinical team to support efficient daily operations

Qualifications

• Dental assisting experience required
• Strong attention to detail and manual dexterity
• Ability to follow step‑by‑step instructions
• Professionalism, reliability, and a positive attitude
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and adhere to HIPAA standards
• Interest in learning removable prosthetic fabrication through structured training

Schedule & Compensation

• Part-time position; schedule to be discussed during the interview
