Duties

• Greet patients warmly upon arrival, verify insurance information, and schedule appointments efficiently using EMR (Electronic Medical Records) systems such as Dentrix or Eaglesoft.
• Manage patient check-in and check-out processes while ensuring compliance with HIPAA regulations to protect patient confidentiality.
• Prepare treatment rooms by sterilizing instruments, setting up dental chairs, and organizing supplies in accordance with infection control protocols and aseptic techniques.
• Assist dentists during procedures including chairside assisting with four-handed dentistry, taking X-rays, and operating digital imaging equipment like 3D scanners.
• Record detailed medical documentation including vital signs, medical history, and dental terminology accurately within EMR systems.
• Handle administrative tasks such as answering phones, managing appointment schedules, processing payments, and maintaining medical records with attention to detail.
• Support clinical staff with procedures across various specialties including pediatric dentistry, prosthodontics, endodontics, and general dentistry while adhering to strict infection control standards.

Qualifications

• Proven experience working in a dental clinic environment with proficiency in dental assisting and front desk duties.
• Familiarity with EMR systems like Dentrix, Eaglesoft, or Epic; knowledge of medical coding and medical documentation is a plus.
• Strong understanding of dental terminology, anatomy knowledge, infection control practices, and aseptic techniques.
• Ability to operate dental X-ray equipment safely while maintaining patient comfort during imaging procedures.
• Knowledge of pediatric dentistry principles and experience working with pediatric patients is highly desirable.
• Excellent communication skills to effectively interact with patients of all ages and coordinate seamlessly with clinical staff.
• Certification in dental assisting or related field preferred; ongoing training in HIPAA compliance and infection prevention is advantageous.
