Responsibilities
- Greet patients warmly upon arrival, verify insurance coverage, and manage appointment scheduling using Dentrix.
- Perform patient intake procedures, including collecting medical histories and updating personal information accurately.
- Assist dental providers during procedures by preparing instruments, sterilizing equipment, and maintaining a clean operatory environment.
- Handle dental billing and coding tasks to ensure accurate documentation and insurance claims processing.
- Verify insurance benefits, process claims and follow up on unpaid or denied claims to optimize revenue flow.
- Maintain meticulous medical records and ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations for patient confidentiality and data security.
- Manage front desk duties including answering multi-line phone systems with professional phone etiquette, scheduling appointments, and managing patient flow efficiently.
- Support office management tasks such as filing, data entry with 10-key typing skills, and maintaining organized medical records for quick retrieval.
- Collaborate with team members to review care plans, update documentation reviews, and ensure seamless communication between clinical and administrative staff.
Skills
- Proven experience in dental office settings or clinics with strong knowledge of dental terminology and administrative support.
- Proficiency in Dentrix experience is a plus.
- Excellent computer skills including Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel), multi-line phone systems, and health information management software.
- Strong understanding of HIPAA compliance standards along with documentation review skills for medical records accuracy.
- Exceptional customer service skills paired with professional office experience in front desk or medical receptionist roles.
- Ability to handle clerical tasks efficiently such as filing, faxing, scanning documents, and managing medical records with attention to detail.
- Knowledge of dental terminology combined with clinic experience ensures smooth coordination between clinical procedures and administrative functions. Pay: $19.00 - $24.00 per hour
