Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Dental Assistant/Receptionist to join our dynamic team. This role combines clinical and administrative responsibilities, ensuring a seamless experience for our patients while supporting the dental practice's operations. The ideal candidate will possess strong communication skills, a thorough understanding of dental terminology, and experience with medical billing and coding. Responsibilities
- Assist dentists during examinations and procedures, providing chairside support as needed
- Manage patient scheduling, including appointments, confirmations, and follow-ups
- Maintain accurate patient records and documentation in compliance with HIPAA regulations
- Perform dental coding and insurance billing
- Verify insurance coverage and handle medical collections efficiently
- Ensure the dental office is well-organized, clean, and stocked with necessary supplies
- Provide excellent customer service to patients, addressing inquiries and concerns with professionalism
- Conduct intake procedures for new patients, including gathering medical history and care plans
- Utilize Microsoft Office for administrative tasks such as filing, typing reports, and managing correspondence
- Handle multi-line phone systems effectively while maintaining positive phone etiquette
Requirements
- Previous experience in a dental office or clinic setting is preferred
- Familiarity with dental terminology and procedures is essential
- Proficiency in using dental software
- Strong computer skills with the ability to navigate various software programs efficiently
- Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail in documentation review
- Ability to communicate effectively in both English and Spanish is a plus
- Experience in front desk operations or medical administrative support is highly valued
- Strong customer service skills with a focus on patient satisfaction
