We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Dental Assistant/Receptionist to join our healthcare team. This role combines clinical support with front desk responsibilities, ensuring smooth daily operations within our dental practice. The ideal candidate will possess excellent communication skills, a strong foundation in medical and dental terminology, and proficiency with electronic health record (EHR) systems. This position offers an opportunity to contribute to patient care excellence while maintaining efficient administrative workflows.

Responsibilities

  • Greet patients warmly, verify insurance information, and manage appointment scheduling using dental practice management software such as Dentrix or Eaglesoft.
  • Assist dental providers during examinations and procedures by preparing treatment rooms, sterilizing instruments, and handing necessary supplies.
  • Review and update patient medical records accurately within EMR systems like Epic, Meditech, or Athenahealth, ensuring compliance with HIPAA regulations.
  • Perform administrative duties including insurance verification, billing, coding (CPT, ICD-9, ICD-10), and processing payments with medical billing software.
  • Manage multi-line phone systems with professional phone etiquette while providing exceptional patient service and addressing inquiries promptly.
  • Maintain organized filing of medical records and documentation review to ensure completeness and accuracy for legal and billing purposes.
  • Support office management tasks such as inventory control of dental supplies, appointment reminders, and general clerical duties including data entry and typing.

Skills

  • Extensive knowledge of dental terminology, medical coding (CPT, ICD), and health information management practices.
  • Proficiency with EMR/EHR systems such as Dentrix, Eaglesoft, Meditech, Epic, Athenahealth, or eClinicalWorks.
  • Strong computer skills including Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel) and familiarity with office management software.
  • Excellent patient service skills combined with professional phone etiquette and effective communication abilities.
  • Experience in dental clinic settings or healthcare offices with a focus on administrative support and front desk operations.
  • Ability to handle sensitive information in compliance with HIPAA standards while maintaining confidentiality.

Pay: $16.00 - $24.00 per hour
