We are seeking a dynamic and compassionate Dental Assistant/Receptionist to join our vibrant dental team. Responsibilities
- Greet patients warmly, verify insurance coverage, and manage appointment scheduling using dental practice management software such as Eaglesoft or Dentrix
- Assist dentists during procedures by preparing instruments, taking X-rays, and ensuring patient comfort
- Verify insurance benefits, process claims, and handle collections using systems like Epic, Meditech, or Athenahealth
- Maintain accurate and detailed medical and dental records in Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems including eClinicalWorks or similar platforms
- Review documentation for completeness and accuracy, ensuring compliance with HIPAA regulations and proper CPT coding for procedures
- Manage phone calls professionally with excellent phone etiquette, answer multi-line systems, and handle patient inquiries efficiently
- Perform administrative tasks such as filing, data entry, medical billing, insurance verification, and appointment reminders to support smooth office operations
Skills
- Extensive knowledge of dental terminology, medical coding (ICD-9, ICD-10), and insurance billing processes including Medicare and Medicaid requirements
- Proficiency in EMR (Electronic Medical Records) systems like Eaglesoft, Dentrix, or similar platforms; familiarity with Meditech or Athenahealth is a plus
- Strong understanding of HIPAA regulations to ensure patient privacy and confidentiality at all times
- Experience with medical collection processes and documentation review for accuracy and completeness
- Excellent computer skills including Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel) and typing skills such as 10-key typing for efficient data entry
- Bilingual abilities are highly desirable to serve diverse patient populations effectively
- Previous clinic or dental office experience is preferred; familiarity with front desk duties such as intake, scheduling, and office management enhances your fit for this role
