Job Overview
We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Dental Assistant/Receptionist to join our vibrant dental practice. Duties
- Greet patients warmly, verify insurance coverage, and manage appointment scheduling using dental practice management software - Dentrix
- Assist dentists during procedures by preparing instruments, taking X-rays, and ensuring patient comfort with dental terminology and care plans
- Handle patient intake, update medical records, and review documentation for accuracy and completeness
- Manage multi-line phone systems with professional phone etiquette, schedule appointments, and respond promptly to patient inquiries
- Maintain accurate dental records and ensure HIPAA compliance for patient confidentiality
- Support medical administrative tasks such as filing, data entry with 10 key typing skills, and managing electronic health records (EHR systems)
- Assist with office management duties including filing, documentation review, and supporting clinic operations to ensure a smooth workflow
Experience
- Previous clinic or dental office experience is required, with familiarity in dental terminology.
- Proven experience using Dentrix (willing to train)
- Strong computer skills including Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel) and proficiency in using Dentrix
- Demonstrated customer service skills with a focus on patient service excellence in a healthcare setting
- Clerical experience supporting front desk operations including appointment scheduling, insurance verification, and medical billing processes
- Knowledge of HIPAA regulations and health information management standards is critical for maintaining confidentiality and compliance
- Experience working in hospital or clinic environments will be considered an asset for this role
