Duties
- Prepare and sterilize dental instruments and equipment following strict infection control protocols using aseptic techniques.
- Assist dentists during various procedures, including general dentistry, prosthodontics, endodontics, and pediatric dentistry, ensuring smooth workflow.
- Maintain accurate medical records and documentation within Electronic Medical Records (EMR) systems such as Eaglesoft or Dentrix
- Take and develop dental X-rays, including 3D scans when applicable, ensuring proper positioning and safety measures.
- Monitor vital signs of patients when necessary and assist with medical imaging procedures to support comprehensive patient care.
- Manage dental supplies inventory, ensuring all sterile supplies are available and properly stored for daily operations.
- Support front desk activities by coordinating patient flow as a dental receptionist when needed, providing excellent customer service.
Experience
- Prior experience working in a dental clinic setting with familiarity in dental assisting and sterilization procedures.
- Knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, medical terminology, and infection control standards essential for safe practice.
- Proficiency with EMR systems such as Eaglesoft or Dentrix; experience with Epic or similar platforms is a plus.
- Hands-on experience with chairside assisting in general dentistry or specialized fields like prosthodontics or pediatrics.
- Ability to perform X-ray procedures safely while adhering to HIPAA regulations regarding patient privacy and medical documentation.
- Understanding of medical coding practices related to dental procedures for accurate recordkeeping.
- Digital imaging with iTero and Trios is a plus
