Dental Assistant (DA) - Sterilization

We are a privately owned, general dental office and are are immediately seeking a highly organized dental assistant who desires to provide excellence in dental care to our patients, and primary support for sterilization of all instruments in our busy office. The candidate should be well-organized, able to anticipate and fully support our dentists and team chair-side on occasion, and with great attention to detail. Must be able to live out the WDG mission (check it out and us online), respectful of patients and co-workers, positive, ability to prioritize, and desires to be the very best.

Responsibilities

  • Warmly welcome customers to our dental office
  • Escort patients to and from treatment, and offer office tours on occasion while always ensuring optimal patient comfort
  • Proactively select and set up instruments, equipment and material needed consistently to assist the doctor
  • Sterilize instruments according to regulations and provide primary support for all instrument sterilization daily in our office
  • Assist the dentist through 4-handed dentistry on occasion
  • Undertake lab tasks as instructed and management of patient cases as directed
  • Provide oral hygiene and post-operative care instructions to patients occasionally
  • Keep the dental ops/rooms clean and well-stocked with supplies
  • Maintain accurate patient records and assist with payment procedures as directed

Skills

  • Proven experience as dental assistant preferred
  • Knowledge of dental instruments and best sterilization methods
  • Understanding of health & safety regulations
  • Ability to perform non-surgical skills including coronal polishing would be a plus
  • CEREC, ZOOM!, and Itero experience preferred
  • Dentrix experience preferred and basic computer skills required
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal people skills
  • Attention to detail and able to reach monthly production goals
  • Well-organized and reliable
  • Competent in taking digital x-rays, patient photos & intra-oral images would be a plus
  • High school diploma; & graduation from dental assisting school preferred
  • Honest, professional and joyful attitude required
