Duties

• Assist dentists during patient examinations and procedures using chairside assisting techniques and aseptic protocols
• Take and develop dental radiographs (X-ray), ensuring proper positioning and safety measures are followed
• Prepare treatment rooms with necessary instruments and materials, maintaining infection control standards
• Record detailed medical and dental histories, vital signs, and medical documentation in electronic health record (EHR) systems such as Eaglesoft or Dentrix
• Support administrative tasks including scheduling appointments, updating medical records, and managing patient flow as a dental receptionist
• Operate advanced dental imaging equipment like 3D scanners and handle medical imaging with precision
• Ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations to protect patient confidentiality and privacy at all times

Skills

• Proficiency with electronic medical records (EMR systems) such as Epic, Dentrix, or Eaglesoft
• Strong understanding of dental terminology, anatomy knowledge, and infection control practices
• Experience with chairside assisting in general dentistry and pediatric dentistry settings
• Ability to perform X-ray procedures safely and accurately while adhering to radiation safety standards
• Familiarity with medical coding, documentation, and records management for accurate billing and compliance
• Knowledge of pediatric dentistry techniques and pediatric patient management strategies
• Excellent communication skills to effectively interact with patients of all ages and support team collaboration
• Ability to learn quickly in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail
