Job Overview
We are seeking a professional and detail-oriented Dental Financial Coordinator to join our dynamic dental practice team. In this vital role, you will serve as the primary point of contact for patients regarding financial matters, insurance estimates and treament plan presentations. Also handling claims processing, and billing inquiries. Your proactive approach will ensure smooth financial operations, enhance patient satisfaction, and support the overall efficiency of our clinic. The ideal candidate is motivated, organized, and possesses a strong understanding of dental and medical billing processes, insurance protocols, and excellent customer service skills.
Primary Responsibilities
- Treatment plan presentation to patients. Verify patient insurance coverage and benefits using systems such as Dentrix, Eaglesoft, to ensure accurate billing and claims processing. Provide an estimate to patients for their portion due.
- Schedule patients, answer calls and field financial questions from patients.
- Collaborate with outsourced billing company (SD Reliance) to get claims paid readily..
- Review documentation for accuracy and completeness, ensuring compliance with HIPAA regulations and proper dental codes.
- Assist patients with financial arrangements, including payment plans and care plans tailored to their needs.
- Process insurance claims efficiently, monitor claim status updates, and resolve any discrepancies or denials promptly, collaborating with billing company.
- Maintain detailed records of billing activities, insurance verifications, and payment histories while ensuring confidentiality in accordance with HIPAA standards.
- Provide exceptional patient service by answering billing inquiries via multi-line phone systems with professionalism and courtesy while demonstrating strong phone etiquette.
Preferred Skills
- Extensive experience with dental office management software such as Dentrix, Eaglesoft.
- Proficiency in dental coding including CDT for diagnoses and procedures.
- Knowledge of insurance verification processes for Medicare, Medicaid, private insurers, and understanding of healthcare regulations including HIPAA compliance.
- Strong medical terminology knowledge coupled with clinic experience in dental or medical settings to facilitate accurate documentation review.
- Excellent computer skills including Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel), typing 30+ WPM and familiarity with Dental information management systems such as Dentrix.
- Prior experience in medical billing, collections, or administrative support within a dental or healthcare environment is highly desirable.
- Exceptional organizational skills with the ability to handle multiple tasks such as filing medical records, managing appointment scheduling, and coordinating front desk activities efficiently. Pay: $28.00 - $36.00 per hour
