Dental Front Desk Coordinator / Patient Care Coordinator

Who You Are

You are someone who:

  • Is warm, personable, and loves interacting with patients
  • Stays organized and composed even when things get busy
  • Solves problems quickly and confidently
  • Has medical or dental front desk experience
  • Understands scheduling dynamics and basic insurance concepts
  • Learns new software quickly (no dental software experience required)
  • Enjoys autonomy and being trusted to own your role

Responsibilities

  • Greet patients with warmth and enthusiasm — you set the tone for the visit
  • Answer calls, provide helpful information, and assist with basic insurance questions
  • Manage appointment scheduling using OpenDental, coordinating with clinical staff to optimize daily patient flow
  • Verify insurance coverage, perform insurance eligibility checks, and handle insurance claims processing
  • Maintain accurate and organized patient records in electronic health record (EHR) systems
  • Review documentation for accuracy and completeness while managing filing of medical records and correspondence in accordance with HIPAA
  • Participate in morning huddles with balance updates and scheduling priorities

Skills

  • Proven experience in dental office administration or medical front desk support
  • Familiarity with EMR/EHR systems and clinic management software
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite including Word and Outlook
  • Excellent communication skills with a friendly demeanor (bilingual abilities are a plus to serve diverse patient populations, but not required)
  • Strong organizational skills with attention to detail for documentation review and accurate data entry
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks efficiently in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality while managing sensitive patient information

Schedule

  • Monday: 8:00am–5:00pm
  • Tuesday: 7:30am–4:30pm
  • Wednesday: 7:30am–4:30pm
  • Thursday: 9:00am–6:00pm
  • Friday–Sunday: OFF

Pay: $24.00 - $28.00 per hour

Education:

  • High school or equivalent (Required)

Experience:

  • Dental/Medical receptionist: 2 years (Preferred)
