Dental Front Desk Receptionist

Job Overview
We are seeking a dynamic and organized Dental Front Desk Receptionist to join our vibrant dental practice. In this vital role, you will be the welcoming face of our clinic, ensuring a smooth and positive experience for every patient from check-in to check-out. Your energetic approach and attention to detail will help coordinate appointments, manage patient records, and facilitate effective communication between patients and our dental team. Responsibilities

  • Greet patients warmly, verify their information, and assist with the check-in and check-out process using Dentrix Ascend
  • Schedule appointments efficiently, manage patient flow, and handle appointment confirmations via phone or electronic communication
  • Verify insurance coverage, perform insurance eligibility checks, and process claims using individual insurance carriers provider platforms.
  • Collect payments, transcribing insurance plan info into Dentrix Ascend platform
  • Maintain organized patient records, review documentation for accuracy, and ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations for health information management
  • Answer multi-line phone systems professionally with excellent phone etiquette; respond promptly to patient inquiries and direct calls appropriately
  • Assist with administrative tasks such as filing, responding to business related emails, data entry , and managing electronic health records
  • Support medical administrative functions including intake procedures, documentation review, and updating care plans as needed
  • Collaborate with the dental team to ensure seamless office management and exceptional patient service

Experience

  • Previous experience working in a dental clinic or medical office environment is highly preferred; familiarity with dental terminology and clinic workflows is a plus
  • Strong computer skills including proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel), dental software (Dentrix, Eaglesoft), and other EHR systems such as Meditech or Athenahealth
  • Knowledge of medical billing processes, insurance verification procedures, CPT coding, ICD coding (ICD-9/10), and Medicare guidelines is desirable
  • Excellent customer service skills with the ability to handle sensitive information discreetly under HIPAA regulations
  • Bilingual abilities are a plus to effectively serve diverse patient populations
  • Demonstrated clerical experience including filing, medical records management, and office management tasks
  • Ability to multitask efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining professionalism and attention to detail
