We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Dental Front Desk Receptionist to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will have at least ONE YEAR of experience in a dental office. Must possess strong administrative skills, excellent communication abilities, and a passion for providing outstanding patient service. This role is essential in ensuring smooth clinic operations, managing patient interactions, and supporting the delivery of high-quality dental care. Duties
- Greet patients warmly and professionally, creating a welcoming atmosphere for all visitors.
- Manage appointment scheduling using EMR (Electronic Medical Records) systems using OPEN DENTAL to optimize patient flow.
- Verify insurance coverage and benefits, including insurance verification for dental and medical plans such as Medicare or Medicaid.
- Collect payments and perform dental billing tasks utilizing OPEN DENTAL.
- Maintain accurate patient records, ensuring compliance with HIPAA regulations and proper documentation review procedures.
- Handle multi-line phone systems with professional phone etiquette to address patient inquiries and coordinate appointments effectively.
- Assist with intake procedures, including collecting patient information and accurately updating medical records.
- Support office management tasks such as filing, data entry (including 10-key typing), and maintaining organized dental office files.
- Collaborate with clinical staff to facilitate care plans and ensure seamless communication between patients and providers.
- Ensure the confidentiality of health information management while providing exceptional customer service to patients.
Qualifications
- Proven one year of experience in a dental office setting with strong front desk or administrative support skills.
- Familiarity with EMR systems such as OPEN DENTAL.
- Knowledge of dental terminology, CPT coding, ICD-10/ICD-9 coding, and medical billing practices.
- Strong understanding of HIPAA regulations and health information management standards.
- Excellent computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel) and office management software such as Eaglesoft or Dentrix.
- Exceptional customer service skills with the ability to handle sensitive situations professionally.
- Bilingual abilities are preferred to serve diverse patient populations effectively.
