Dental Front Office Assistant

Job Summary
We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Dental Front Office Assistant to join our vibrant dental team! Duties

  • Greet patients warmly and provide outstanding customer service at the front desk
  • Schedule appointments efficiently using dental practice management software such as Dentrix or Eaglesoft
  • Verify insurance coverage and benefits, including Medicare and Medicaid, ensuring accurate billing and coding with CPT, ICD-9, and ICD-10 codes
  • Manage patient intake processes, including data entry, medical history updates, and documentation review
  • Handle multi-line phone systems with professionalism and maintain excellent phone etiquette
  • Process payments, perform medical collections, and assist with billing procedures using EMR (Electronic Medical Records) systems like Epic, Meditech, Athenahealth or eClinicalWorks
  • Maintain accurate dental records and medical files in compliance with HIPAA regulations
  • Assist with insurance verification and claims submission to ensure timely reimbursements
  • Support office management tasks such as filing, data entry, and maintaining organized medical records
  • Provide administrative support for care plans and documentation review to ensure completeness and accuracy

Experience

  • Prior experience working in a dental clinic or medical office environment is highly preferred
  • Strong knowledge of dental terminology, medical terminology, ICD coding (ICD-9/ICD-10), CPT coding, and medical billing procedures
  • Proficiency with EMR/EHR systems such as Dentrix, Eaglesoft, Meditech, Epic or Athenahealth is essential
  • Demonstrated ability to handle insurance verification processes confidently
  • Excellent computer skills including Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel) and typing accuracy (10 key typing)
  • Bilingual abilities are a plus to serve diverse patient populations effectively
  • Previous experience managing front desk operations in a healthcare setting is highly desirable
  • Knowledge of HIPAA compliance standards related to health information management

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time

Pay: $20.00 - $29.00 per hour
