<Responsibilities>
- Greet patients warmly and manage check-in/check-out procedures efficiently using dental practice management software such as Eaglesoft or Dentrix
- Verify insurance coverage, perform insurance eligibility checks, and handle insurance verifications accurately
- Schedule appointments, manage patient flow, and coordinate with clinical staff to optimize daily clinic operations
- Collect payments, process medical billing and coding using CPT, ICD-9, ICD-10 codes, and Meditech or Epic EMR systems
- Maintain accurate medical records and ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations for patient confidentiality and data security
- Review documentation for completeness and accuracy, including care plans and medical records review
- Answer multi-line phone systems professionally, provide excellent customer service, and handle patient inquiries with care and clarity
<Skills>
- Extensive experience with medical collection processes, medical billing, and coding including CPT, ICD-9/10 coding standards
- Proficiency in EMR (Electronic Medical Records) systems such as Epic, Meditech, Athenahealth, eClinicalWorks, Eaglesoft, Dentrix or similar platforms
- Strong knowledge of HIPAA regulations and health information management best practices
- Ability to navigate dental terminology alongside medical terminology for accurate documentation and billing
- Exceptional computer skills including Microsoft Office suite; typing skills (10 key typing) are a plus
- Bilingual abilities are highly valued to serve diverse patient populations effectively
- Previous clinic or dental office experience is preferred; familiarity with office management and front desk duties is essential
- Excellent phone etiquette, customer service skills, and clerical experience in a busy medical or dental setting
- Knowledge of insurance verification procedures, Medicare policies, ICD coding standards (ICD-10), and hospital or healthcare environment experience enhances your fit for this role
