Job Summary
North End Dental is seeking an experienced dental professional to join our team in a dual-role position combining a front desk position with chairside assisting. While experience is preferred, we are happy to cross train the right applicant who demonstrates professionalism, reliability and a willingness to learn. We are a non-corporate, well established, private practice in Boise's beautiful North End historic neighborhood. We strive to provide high quality patient care, in a welcoming and friendly environment.
Must possess strong communication skills, a positive attitude, and have prior dental experience. Knowledge of Dentrix is a plus.
Duties
- Greet patients warmly, verify patient information, and manage appointment scheduling using Dentrix practice management software.
- Collect patient data including vital signs, medical history, and insurance details, ensuring compliance with HIPAA regulations for confidentiality.
- Prepare treatment rooms by sterilizing instruments, setting up necessary dental supplies, and maintaining aseptic technique throughout procedures.
- Assist dentists with chairside procedures across general dentistry specialties including prosthodontics, endodontics, and pediatric dentistry; perform four-handed dentistry to enhance efficiency.
- Take dental X-rays using digital radiography equipment; ensure proper positioning and safety protocols are followed.
- Maintain accurate medical documentation and records in compliance with HIPAA standards; update patient charts with treatment notes, medical coding, and procedural details.
- Manage administrative tasks such as answering phones as a dental receptionist, scheduling follow-up appointments, processing payments, and handling correspondence.
- Support infection control protocols by adhering to OSHA guidelines; monitor clinic cleanliness and sterilization processes regularly.
Qualifications
- Excellent communication skills as a dental receptionist; capable of managing multiple tasks efficiently.
- Certification or training in chairside assisting or dental assisting is desirable;
- Previous experience working in a dental clinic environment is highly preferred; familiarity with Dentrix is a plus.
- Understanding of dental terminology, anatomy knowledge, and medical terminology relevant to dentistry.
- Ability to perform X-ray procedures safely while maintaining patient comfort; experience with 3D scanners or advanced imaging tools is advantageous.

Pay: $17.00 - $25.00 per hour
