Dental Hygenist PT needed for Periodontal Group Practice

Duties

  • Perform thorough dental cleanings, including scaling and root planing procedures, tailored to periodontal needs
  • Conduct patient assessments by reviewing medical histories, vital signs, and current dental conditions
  • Educate patients on oral hygiene practices, periodontal disease prevention, and post-treatment care
  • Assist with dental procedures using four-handed dentistry techniques to ensure efficiency and comfort
  • Take and interpret medical imaging such as X-rays while maintaining infection control standards and aseptic techniques
  • Manage medical records accurately within EMR systems like Eaglesoft or Dentrix, ensuring HIPAA compliance
  • Review documentation for accuracy, update medical coding, and facilitate seamless communication between team members

Experience

  • Proven experience as a Dental Hygienist in a dental clinic or office setting, preferably within a periodontal or specialty practice
  • Familiarity with dental terminology, infection control protocols, and anatomy knowledge relevant to oral health care
  • Hands-on experience with chairside assisting during periodontal procedures and general dentistry treatments
  • Knowledge of EMR systems such as Eaglesoft or Dentrix for documentation review and medical records management
  • Strong understanding of HIPAA regulations, medical terminology, and medical coding practices related to dental care
  • Ability to perform patient care with compassion while maintaining high standards of infection control and aseptic technique
  • Prior experience working with pediatric dentistry or treating pediatric patients is a plus but not required
