Dental Hygienist

Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Dental Hygienist to join our dynamic dental team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong foundation in dental hygiene practices, patient care, and medical documentation, with a passion for promoting oral health and providing exceptional patient experiences. As a Dental Hygienist, you will be responsible for performing thorough dental cleanings, assisting with patient assessments, and supporting the clinical operations of our modern dental practice. Your expertise in dental terminology, EMR systems, and various dental procedures will ensure high standards of care and compliance with health regulations.

Responsibilities

• Perform comprehensive dental cleanings, including scaling and polishing to remove plaque and tartar buildup.
• Conduct patient assessments by taking vital signs, medical history, and evaluating oral health status.
• Educate patients on proper oral hygiene techniques and preventive care strategies.
• Maintain accurate and detailed medical records using EMR systems like Open Dental and Dexis while ensuring HIPAA compliance.
• Support the dental team with administrative tasks such as scheduling appointments and managing patient flow as a dental receptionist when needed.
• Ensure sterilization protocols are followed diligently to uphold safety standards within the clinic environment.
• Stay informed about advancements in dental terminology, medical coding, and best practices in general dentistry.

Experience

• Proven experience working as a Dental Hygienist in a fast-paced dental clinic environment.
• Familiarity with EMR systems such as Open dental , Dexis and Itero for efficient documentation and record keeping.
• Knowledge of medical terminology, medical documentation procedures, and HIPAA regulations.
• Experience with pediatric dentistry, endodontics, prosthodontics, and other specialty areas is preferred.
• Strong understanding of dental assisting techniques combined with excellent patient assessment skills.
• Previous experience working with dental office teams to ensure smooth clinical operations.

Pay: $46.00 - $55.00 per hour
